I can't say enough about the benefits of doing constructive rest. Coming out of the Alexander technique, constructive rest is very relaxing to the entire body. When you are feeling stressed, or feeling like your back could go out, or that your shoulders are super tight, try doing "CR". The hard part of doing it is just that, doing it. When you are in "CR" its a great time to count your blessings or think about your gratitude list. The best place to do "CR" is outside, but a firm surface is what you want and then feel the support, the support of your spine and the support in your life. Breathe.
